Jakarta. BMW Indonesia unveiled the new BMW X5 M in Indonesia at the BMW Studio, Plaza Indonesia. The new BMW X5 M is the first all-wheel-drive vehicle to offer supreme performance through its newly developed V8 4.4 liter turbo engine, capable of producing an outstanding 555 hp at 6,000 rpm.
Every detail in the design of the BMW X5 M is an expression of power. From the aggressive front aprons to the M emblem and all design elements, the car evokes striking dynamism from every angle.
“The new BMW X5 M targets individuals who are performance-oriented and self-rewarding, they want to differentiate themselves and expect only the best state-of-the-art technology and design,” said Ramesh Divyanathan, President Director of BMW Indonesia. “The new BMW X5 M will only be available at BMW showroom starting May 2010. Customers who are interested can place their individual order by contacting our authorized dealers.”
The new BMW X5 M sets new standards in this segment of high-performance models in terms of acceleration, lateral dynamics, steering behavior, stopping power and efficiency. It accelerates to 100 km/h from a standstill in 4.7 seconds, with truly impressive delivery of power by the V8 turbo engine that provides maximum torque of 680 Nm in the broad speed range between 1,500 and 5,650 rpm.
This is combined with the smooth and consistent build-up of lateral forces that meet the highest requirements and the most dynamic level of performance in bends.
Power and performance typical of BMW M is delivered by the new M TwinPower Turbo engine with Twin Scroll Twin Turbo Technology and the exhaust manifold extending over both rows of cylinders offering absolutely extreme response and spontaneity, a linear build-up of engine power, and an unusually consistent torque curve.
The new M TwinPower Turbo engine develops its outstanding output and performance with equally outstanding efficiency. In addition to direct High Precision Injection, the BMW X5 M is equipped with a wide range of technologies from BMW ¬EfficientDynamics. The average fuel consumption is 14.3 liters/100 km and the CO2 rating is 335 grams per km. The engine fulfills EU5 requirement.
The BMW X5 M is the first all-wheel-drive model built by BMW M GmbH, combining BMW xDrive and Dynamic Performance Control with all the specific requirements and qualities of a high-performance vehicle in typical M style. Its characteristic highlight is the outstanding driving dynamics combined with supreme driving stability and excellent traction. Driving pleasure is further enhanced by a level of agility unparalleled in this segment and the unusually neutral steering behavior.
Eko Nugroho, one of Indonesia’s leading young talents in contemporary art, captures the power, aggressiveness, and energy of this high-performance car in his artwork. The white BMW X5 M is blended into his drawings spreading from the wall into the floor. Eko Nugroho’s art works have garnered acclaim in the international art community in showings in Europe, USA, Australia and Asia.
The artwork of Eko creates a unique artistic appearance of BMW Studio that attracts the visitors of this high-end shopping mall. The display of the artwork is intended to nurture public appreciation of Indonesian modern contemporary art.
“We are pleased to present the preview of the new BMW X5 M in collaboration with Eko Nugroho,” said Mr. Divyanathan. “BMW Group has involved in art for more than 30 years, including the highly appreciated BMW Art Cars collection.
